On Wednesday, August 17, we switched our ISP service from Bell to Cogeco. It has been in service for one day, and there is a very noticeable difference in terms of speed and reliability. I’ve tested the download speed compared to Sympatico and it is approximately 6.7 times faster, but this speed will change depending on the site you’re connecting to when you download a ?le. For uploading ?les, Cogeco is approximately twice as fast compared to Sympatico.
Besides the luxury of having a fast connection, it looks like our problems with the Internet dropping out multiple times on a daily basis could be over. The service didn’t drop once today and the stability never ?uctuated. Of course there are always “some” sites that take a long time to load, but that has nothing to do with our connection, it is most likely a problem with the website’s server or possibly Internet Explorer not working properly.
