Can you help me understand my COGECO invoice?

Q:
I pay annually (bi-annually, quarterly) and I just received another invoice for the rate increase. Why?

A: Annual, bi-annual, or quarterly payment options are available as a convenience to our customers. Customers choosing a payment mode other than monthly will be notified and billed for the remaining period of their service for the increased amount.

Q:
I sent in my pre-authorized banking withdrawal information last week and I just received another bill. Why was the money not taken from my bank account?

A: All requests for pre-authorized chequing are set up on your cable account as quickly as possible, however, the request to have the money debited from your account occurs only once a month. If you have received a bill, please pay the amount owing. Once your pre-authorized payments have been set up with the bank, you will no longer receive a bill from us unless there is a rate change.

Q:
I just made a payment. Why isn't it showing up on my invoice?

A: Depending on your method of payment, it can take from 1 to 10 days to reach us. This delay could result in your bill being produced prior to the payment being applied to your account. Our account balance hotline, as noted on your invoice, can give you an up-to-date balance. For quick and easy access, enter the code shown under the telephone number on your invoice.

Q:
I have a late fee(s) and administration charge(s) on my bill. Why?

A: A $3 late fee is applied to your account if your payment was not applied to the account by the due date on your bill. There is a $21.40 collection charge that is applied to your account if a payment is not applied to the account before the final due date. When a final notice is received, you must contact the Call Centre to make arrangements for payment.

How can I pay my bill?

A: Customers have a choice of six convenient payment options: 1. preauthorized withdrawal not debited from bank account. 2. Cheque 3. Through most financial institutions. 4. By money order. 5. By major credit card. 6. Payment drop box locations.

Q:
Why am I being charged for a partial month of service(s)?

A: Services are billed from the date they are installed or removed. Should you make any changes to your service(s), your account will be charged only for the days you have the service(s). All dates are shown to reflect the period of time you are being charged or credited for the service(s).

How do I check my account balance?

A:You can check your current account balance by registering to our online billing and payment services.

Q:
I was to receive a credit / adjustment and it is not on my latest invoice.

A: Due to the timing of our invoices, some credits or adjustments may not show up on your current invoice but will appear on the next one.
