Q: What happens if I missed a Pay Per View movie/event that I had ordered?

A: You will not be charged for an event or a movie that you have not actually tuned in. However, the system will inform you about the event or the movie you have ordered (or its starting time).

Q: What do I do if I forget my "Parental Control Code"?

A: The system will allow you up to 6 attemps at your Parental Control Code. After 6 incorrect entries, it will not accept any further attempts for 30 minutes. If after 30 minutes, you are still unable to remember your code, you can set up a new Parental Control Code by calling COGECO Technical Service.

Q: How can I prevent my children from watching programming that I feel is not suitable when I am not home?

A: To put you at ease, COGECO offers a solution to help you more effectively control the content of your television programming. Our decoder gives you certain parental controls to meet any concerns you have regarding channels you don't want your children to see. Several newer-model TVs, videos, and decoders also have controls that let you block access to certain channels. If you have any questions, please call our customer technical services. We will be pleased to help you.

Q: What is the difference between using a digital receiver and using cable directly?

A: Analog TV: refers to the conventional cable service we are all familiar with. It uses a signal sent in analog format compared to the new transmission format, which is called 'digital.' Conventional cable service includes basic services (the main channels such as CBC, CTV, Global), the American channels, community TV, and advertising channels. To this basic service can be added specialized channels, e.g., Discovery, TSN, cartoon channel, etc. Digital TV: refers to a service delivered by a signal that is digitally encoded. It uses the conventional cable, but is received in your TV via a digital decoder. It gives superior sound quality and picture compared to the quality provided by analog TV. Digital technology has been developed to offer more channels and better service quality. To offer this service, COGECO is making new investments to change the existing system. COGECO's goal is to make this service available as soon as possible, within the existing constraints.

Q: What channels are available?

A: Visit our TV Programming section to view the list of available channels in your area.

Q: Can I get AC-3 sound?

A: AC-3 (Dolby Digital) is the most common term used for the new generation of DOLBY Surround Sound. To get sound in AC-3, you must have a digital receiver, our digital decoder and the appropriate connections. To receive AC-3 sound, the program you are watching must have been made with AC-3. At the moment, few suppliers provide AC-3 sound.
