Q: If I buy a dish, is all of my programming included?

A: No, once you have paid for your dish and installation, you will need to purchase your programming, which could cost over $600 annually.

Q: What will I MISS if I choose satellite TV?

A: - the chance to watch different channels on different TVs unless you have additional equipment; - the full selection of local channels; - customer service; - 24-hour repair service; - community channels and programming; - equipment upgrades unless you pay additional costs; - full variety of programming at a competitive price.

Q: Can I hook up all my TV sets to one dish?

A: Yes, all your TV sets can be hooked up to one receiver, but the same channel will appear on every set. So if you want to watch different programs on different TVs at the same time, you will need additional receivers which can cost up to $500 each. But COGECO offers its exclusive MULTIVISION service which lets all the members of your household watch what they want on their own TV, without the need for an additional decoder.

Q: What happens if I buy a dish and a new model is introduced?

A: As we all know, technology is rapidly evolving. It is thus possible that your satellite dish can quickly become outdated, leaving you with the choice of buying a new dish or continuing to use outdated technology. COGECO offers its digital TV customers the option of buying their equipment, thus reducing their monthly service costs. When you buy your equipment, you'll automatically receive, at no cost, a 1-year replacement warranty (against obsolescence). This way, you'll be assured of staying on the cutting edge of technology.

Q: Will I receive all of the same channels as I do with cable?

A: No. For example, all the local news, weather, sports and coverage of community activities which you enjoy today with Cable TV are not available on Satellite TV. Every satellite viewer across the country receives the same national services, selected from a menu of packages. Cable TV, of course, delivers your local channels and all of the major broadcast networks

Q: Are repairs and service included with satellite TV?

A: When you need repairs or support, it is difficult for you to decide who to call: the service supplier or the retailer who sold you the system. When you have a problem with picture quality, you may have to call either one, depending on the circumstances. You may even have to pay for a service contract. With cable TV from COGECO, there is only one call to make, 24 hours a day. We have highly qualified technicians ready to help you at no extra cost.

Q: Will I get a lot of different U.S. networks with satellite?

A: Satellite TV suppliers are not authorized to offer more American channels than cable TV suppliers do. Canadian satellite suppliers thus cannot offer channels like HBO and ESPN. Before you choose a satellite TV supplier, you should know that COGECO already offers a wide choice of channels at highly competitive prices.
