Q:
Can I hook up more than one computer to my Internet connection?

A: Customers who subscribe to our High Speed Internet residential Standard and Pro packages or Business High Speed packages can connect up to four computers on a network. Our cable modems are automatically configured under these packages to provide IP addresses to the additional computers. All you need to do is purchase a network hub or router and the necessary cabling in order to connect all the computers and devices together. Please note that the COGECO Customer Contact Centre does not provide support for setting up networks.

Q:
What software and equipment will I receive when I subscribe to any of COGECO’s High Speed Internet services?

A: When you subscribe, we will provide you with a cable modem and an Ethernet cable. It is your responsibility to ensure that your computer has an Ethernet card (or built-in Ethernet connection). Ethernet cards can be obtained at most computer stores for about $29.

Q:
Which type of connection should I specify when playing games online?

A: When playing games online, specify that you are using a TCP/IP connection on the Internet.

Q:
Which username and password do I have to enter to access the servers?

A: The only time that users of our cable Internet service have to enter their username and password is when they check their email or upload Web pages. However, most email software programs let you save these values on setup. This way you don't have to enter them every time you want to check for new mail. Your username for email is your full email address.
