Setup of Windows 2000 with a LANcity cable modem.

 

Step 1

  • Click on "My Network Places" with the right button of your mouse and click on "Properties" with the left button.


Step 2

  • In the window "Network and Dial-up Connections", click on "Local Area Network Connection" with the right button of your mouse and select "Properties" with the left button.


Step 3

  • In the window "Local Area Connection Properties", select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click on "Properties" button.


Step 4

  • In the window "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties", select "Use the following IP address" and enter your IP address, the "Subnet mask" 255.255.255.0 and your "Default gateway".

  • Select "Use the following DNS server addresses" and enter two DNS server like below.

  • Click "OK" button.


Step 5

  • In the window "Local Area Network Properties", click on "OK" and restart your computer.
